Lou has spent the last few years in roles where accuracy, clear communication and dependable organisation genuinely mattered, and those experiences have shaped the way I approach work. I tend to take something loosely defined and make it structured and actionable, whether that involves information, plans or processes. Developing my skills in data tools has been something of a natural extension of that mindset, giving me new ways to uncover useful differences, present findings clearly and leave something that others can rely on. I’m moving into data work because it gives me the tools to take something small and scale it into insight that influences decisions, reduces uncertainty and leads to outcomes that genuinely matter.
KEY SKILLS
Accurate handling of structured information – confident working with data that feeds into reports, tracking sheets and review processes
Excel for organising and preparing data – setting up tables, applying logical functions, filtering, cleaning entries and preparing data for reporting
Translating collected information into usable formats – turning raw notes, figures or recorded events into structured summaries, trackers or frameworks
AI-supported efficiency – using AI tools to streamline organisation, structure documentation, and format information more clearly and consistently
Maintaining consistency across multiple systems – ensuring records align between spreadsheets, written logs and school systems
Logical, sequential thinking – approaching tasks by breaking them into steps (planning, organising, executing, reviewing)
Reliable documentation management – keeping time-based records accurate, up-to-date and traceable
Adapting processes based on results or findings – making adjustments when data indicates a different direction is needed
BEYOND WORK
Outside of work, I enjoy practical projects—recent examples include building a custom standing desk and restoring a wooden floor because I wanted it done properly. I play badminton when I get the chance, and I really enjoy strategy-based card games like MTG, partly for the social side and partly because they scratch the logical/problem-solving itch. I’ve always had a soft spot for performing; my family has always been very musical, into singing, acting and theatre, and if I ever drifted back toward something creative, it would probably be along those lines. I’m also someone who enjoys exploring new tech and software—mainly to figure out how things work and how to get more out of them.
